P.S. I’d already put on half of my running clothes (after googling ‘continue running with plantar fasciitis’) before I stopped myself. What the hell are you doing? You know better!

what did you think of Tate
I didn’t actually go sightseeing, I ran by the sights - both Tate Britain and Tate Modern. Tate Britain’s old and stately (like many other buildings in London, dare I say?), Tate Modern is in an old power station. The building per se is rather ugly, but I really like the...

London marathon ballot →
FYI, the lottery opened today! I entered (without the usual niggle ‘a fully mary, really?!’, in previous years chances were around 1:7 of actually getting a slot).

Knee exercises →
Reminder, mostly to myself: Do your strength and stretching exercises on a regular basis, particularly now - marathon training is fast approaching.

runreadrepeat replied to your post: I’m going to a conference next week: Running stuff…
Where’s the conference at?
Manchester. I probably won’t see much of the city though except on early morning runs, pretty packed program.

I’m going to a conference next week: Running stuff takes up half my suitcase and I’ve just researched places to get oatmeal (sorry, porridge) early.

Which part of London are you staying in? Are you anywhere near Regents canal? That’s a good long run.
That’s a great idea! I live in Bloomsbury and my office is right next to the canal. Duh, could have thought of that. Thanks!

Thanks a lot to everyone who sent a message! I’m still alive!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new job but these first weeks have been intense. No running unfortunately, besides of trying to not look stupid at work and moving to a new country I simply didn’t have the energy for a regular routine yet. Otherwise, London is great, being apart from the programmer isn’t.
Anyway, I’ll be...

Last couple days of employment at my old place… Here’s what I’ve been up to:
I cycled
I bailed on strength training (will go tomorrow)
I went to lunch with the girls, gonna miss them
I bought a wedding dress and something elaborate that goes on my head
There you go, accountability. Buying a dress a year in advance. I guess I won’t pig out on fish and chips continuously...

phildoeslife replied to your photo: Mulled wine in a London pub. Is this a sacrilege?…
I had no idea you were moving here!
Yes, yes, in exactly ONE week I’m moving to London (eeks!!!). I’m pretty damn excited about that and also about my new job. But I could do without the whole moving thing.
