A colleague at work brought lunch for everyone. Yes, that’s very nice of her. BUT, she brought white bread, crackers, cheese, cold meat, salmon… You get the picture. Fine, I anticipated something like this and had a hearty breakfast, so I wasn’t really hungry at lunchtime and could get away with cocktail tomatoes and a few nibbles here and there.
Now, what I find rather obnoxious is that the colleague then said that ‘she made sure to bring something for everyone’. Exactly.
I don’t care what other people eat, I also don’t expect anyone to accommodate me. Once in a while I eat birthday cake or chocolate to be social and friendly even if I don’t like it (lol, I know I’m a bit nutty). But when everyone was nodding along praising white bread and camembert cheese, I did get a bit angry and probably pulled a face. At least don’t expect me to be grateful for refined carbs and hydrogenated fat.
