10k!?! Wow.
The best part is the refueling: The trainers hand out bottles of sports drinks on long poles, the athletes grab the bottle, turn onto their back, and have a quick swig.
Avoiding spoilers was a close call, a surprise TV screen at the gelateria almost caught me (cherry gelato after the statistics meeting).
But a couple of hours without internet was worth it. The race was impressive, it’s unbelievable how fast these athletes are.

The programmer is testing out hijacking the Olympics live stream. This means that I’ll be able to watch the triathlon tonight. Love!
I was rejoicing earlier on. You see, a colleague is on vacation, that means that I get an office all to myself and get to watch the men’s Olympic triathlon tomorrow, ahem, to accomplish tons of important work stuff. Now I found out that I’ll have a meeting exactly when it matters the most. With a statistician. About a project I’m not even involved in.

OMG, triathlon! It was totally worth abandoning the programmer on the trails to watch the race. Amazing photo finish, almost gave me a heart attack. Well done Swiss athletes!
P.S. Don’t fear for the programmer, he found home on his own, still walking and talking. We had a sweeper bike today.
